Title: Operations Support Advisor Location: GBR-Edinburgh GENERAL SUMMARY: Dell is seeking a Technical Support Analyst to join our team in Edinburgh. This role provides workstation and corporate infrastructure support. This associate reports to the IT Operations Manager. Applications range from IP phones to email and personal productivity tools. Training will be provided on all supported applications. Candidates are expected to: * Troubleshoot independently using available knowledge resources and other research. * Follow established guidelines and industry best practices to resolve customer issues. * Use correct escalation process including customer follow up. * Record all actions in approved systems. * Prompt and consistent follow up on all unresolved issues. * High level judgment and professionalism when interacting with customers. * On-Call (after-hours) support is required, and done on a rotational basis. Required skills: * Must have solid troubleshooting skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong customer service skills and experience with the ability to work closely with other local and remote team members Desired certifications (must have one of these): * CompTIA A - certification covers preventative maintenance, basic networking, installation, troubleshooting, communication and professionalism * MCTS ( Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist ) – Certification for Windows 7, Configuration Education and certification requirements: * A minimum of a high school diploma and some college or technical school.
