MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To manage all projects relating to Health Economics and Outcomes Research within the UK Affiliate.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
To act as project manager for HTA submissions
To participate as a core member of the brand team and assess and address HEOR data needs which demonstrate the value of brands and can support market access
Address HTA as well as payers & providers requirements
To maintain continuous relationship with health economic community and awareness of research which could support the brand
To support the launch of new products
Lead and/or support manuscript generation for AbbVie Ltd HEOR studies in line with brand strategy
To represent AbbVie Ltd in discussions with global R&D; and commercial groups to ensure health economics requirements of AbbVie Ltd are recognised and implemented into development programmes and to provide input to Global HEOR about needs of the affiliate to be considered when developing HEOR models
Understand, adapt and populate budget impact/ cost models to demonstrate the economic impact and benefits of AbbVie products at affiliate level and in collaboration with Global HEOR
To acquire therapeutic and product expertise relevant to areas of responsibility.
ACCOUNTABILITY
To assist in AbbVie portfolio-management selection
To provide ongoing health economics training to medical and commercial divisions as required
To provide expert advice to AbbVie Ltd clinical teams with regard to health economic programmes and to support the marketing requirements of the commercial divisions
To provide regular updates to AbbVie Ltd and international AbbVie personnel on NICE activities and AbbVie involvement in UK HTA activities
Responsible for NICE/SMC/AWMSG submissions to seek reimbursement for AbbVie Ltd products
Responsible for execution of HEOR programmes to facilitate market access to AbbVie Ltd products
Source of expertise of HEOR
Knowledgeable on developments on UK reimbursement regulations and processes
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
To comply with the company’s policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives of AbbVie Ltd.
Responsible for the health, safety and environmental performance of themselves and others through compliance within EHS programs, regulations and standards. Subject to the policy and procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook.

Qualifications
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION
Experience & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of the drug development process
Excellent understanding of the business needs of the healthcare market place/commercial objectives of the company
Excellent understanding of the practical application of health economics and outcomes research to drug development and post-marketing phases
Knowledge of HTA requirements and process in UK
Knowledge of local payer and provider requirements in UK
Knowledge of the principles and methodologies of Health Economics
Knowledge of statistics and evidence-based medicine
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy or academic institution __
Ideal candidate could also have some experience working with payers, HTA bodies or within Pharma environment to develop HEOR models, not essential
Skills:
Excellent written (particularly technical writing) skills
Excellent oral communication skills and verbally tactful and persuasive
Excellent numeracy skills
IT skills particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to develop and adapt locally HEOR models to convince providers, payers and health technology assessors of the value of AbbVie’s products
Ability to understand and collect local health economic data to enhance HEOR models
Ability to interpret and synthesise clinical data for incorporation into HEOR models
Ability to understand and develop recommendations for epidemiological and observational studies
Education
- Economics degree or degree in public health, epidemiology, pharmacy or clinical/pharmacology scientific background + a postgraduate qualification in health economics
