About the Business Line *Transportation*


We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.


Job Summary Our Development team currently has vacancies for a *Development Planning Consultant* with highways and infrastructure technical experience, to work on local, national and international schemes from our offices in the South East, based in either St Albans or London.

The successful candidate will join AECOM’s established South East Development business which continues to expand following several major project wins. The team is involved in a wide variety of projects mainly relating to residential and mixed use developments and provides services that range from initial viability/due diligence through to outline design and assessments to support planning applications to detailed design (S278/S38) and implementation.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate technical capability in areas such as 3D design and alignment, drainage, pavement, signs and road markings. We are looking to enhance our teams with people who have a sound technical background and share our enthusiasm and determination.


Minimum Requirements


* Experience of large infrastructure (including major highways) and minor development works

* Experience of working in a design and build/developer environment

* Preparation of designs and drawing in accordance with technical design standards (including DMRB)

* Development of designs and modelling in AutoCAD/Civils3D/MX/PDS environment

* Development of Surface Water Drainage Design in WinDes

* Management of small and medium work packages and projects

* Interface with the Client as necessary to deliver the work

* Writing contract documents and technical reports as required

* Communication to the immediate team, the wider organisation and external parties

* Responsibility for managing the workloads and technical oversight of small team of junior engineers and technicians

* Coaching, mentoring and developing junior staff

* Developing of specific project outcomes on time, within budget, to the quality required.

* Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety including CDM


Preferred Qualifications


* HNC/Degree
