Donor Screening * Determine donor suitability in accordance with regulations, corporate policies, and customer specifications * Recruit and assess donors for suitability in the various plasma/blood programs * Review suitability criteria and approve donors for donation * Help maintain "smooth donor flow' * Unit Number Assignment (restricted responsibility) * Through Knowledge of products and their labeling requirements * Assign unit numbers to ensure traceability of all donations Product Collection * Perform the collection of Source Plasma and Whole Blood in accordance with applicable Regulations and SOPs * Efficiently monitors donors through the donation process to avoid trauma and adverse events * Perform post donation donor observation and care * Manages adverse donor reactions and ensures adequate supplies of emergency drugs and equipment as prescribed by the Center Physician Product Processing * Perform proper receipt and processing of collection products * Maintain product and sample inventories in an orderly manner and as required for each product and/or product testing status * Completes accurate documentation for all products collected * Prepare and identify individual samples for laboratory and customer testing * Perform sample processing and pooling procedures * Prepare products for shipment and disposition in accordance with applicable regulations and SOPs * Ensure traceability of **all**samples and units collected, processed and shipped **GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES** EquipmenUSupplies * Has a thorough working knowledge of the operators manuals and QC procedures for the instruments and equipment used to perform the process(es) * Receives incoming supplies and restocks work areas as necessary Maintain accurate and legible records and documentation * Understand and comply with all regulations and Corporate SOPs * Completes accurate and legible forms and documentation * Documents accurate and concise information and observations in DRFs Promotes and practices safety * Practice Universal Precautions at all times * Proper handling and disposition of Biohazardous waste * Know and promote policies and practices as they apply to donors, employees and visitors * Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times * Maintain and monitor infection control for the center Maintain a high quality medical facility * Provide superior donor care and maintain donor health and safety * Maintain a positive company image through professional behavior and appearance * Ensure prompt and friendly customer service * Maintain a cooperative relationship with the physician/physician substitute 1. Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent. 2. Current (within the last year) CPR card. 3. Must be in good physical health, exhibit maturity and able to work independently. 4. Must be able to read, write and follow oral or written instructions (English). 5. Knowledge of FDA, CLlA, OSHA, and QPP regulations applicable to the qualification and donation process of donors as well as the processing and storage area.
