External Description: Line of Business: Community Banking Div Group Job Category: Professionals Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training 2. Twelve years of related experience 3. Portfolio size is expected to average $80,000,000 or more 4. Can readily handle a loan request of $15,000,000 or more up to in-house limit 5. Highly skilled and proficient in all aspects of finance 6. Ability to grasp complex credits clearly; is insightful in all aspects of finance 7. Can handle client relationships with borrowing clients with total debt of $50,000,000 or more 8. Strong verbal and written communication capabilities; must speak fluent English 9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight 10. Extensive knowledge of PC applications Responsibilities: 1. Handle real estate loan requests from $500,000 up to a total credit relationship of $40,000,000, demonstrate a general understanding of major technical aspects of lending and is highly skilled and proficient in all aspects of finance. 2. Assume responsibility for the profitability, quality, liquidity, and growth of assigned loan portfolio by servicing all client credit relationships, including credit proposal write-ups, file documentation, legal documentation and loan closing, clear exceptions, and problem loan/asset management. 3. May allocate work, set schedules, guide, advise, and train area or assigned personnel in the more complex phases of their work. 4. Develop, approve, and service real estate loans for business and individual clients within limits of authority. 5. Interview applicants to develop financial and credit information, to ascertain needs, abilities, earnings, and risk; request necessary information, such as financial and operating statements. 6. Evaluate and extend credit and terms in accordance with policy and lending authority. 7. Prepare and present/recommend to higher authority, individual, or committee any loans in excess of authority. 8. Monitor loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and to ascertain any developing trends. 9. Aggressively call on potential and existing clients to maintain productivity and profitability in lending and non-lending relationships, successfully execute the BB&T; Decathlon. 10. Coordinate the delivery of capital markets and other specialized finance facilities. 11. Keep abreast of changing business and economic developments as well as real estate submarkets which impact the loan portfolio, its profitability, and banking in general. 12. Aggressively market non-credit services such as Trust, Insurance, and Treasury Services to prospects and clients. 13. Prepare various reports as requested. 14. Service delinquent accounts as required. 15. Represent Bank through Community and professional involvement in groups and associations to develop contacts for potential business. 16. If required, handle marketing function for profit center.
