**JOB SUMMARY** The Senior Director, Marketing Analytics leads and manages a team that provides tracking and performance analysis for Marriott’s global marketing programs. The Senior Director operates with considerable independence, developing strategies to deliver information and knowledge for action, while managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders. The Senior Director manages a team responsible for providing insights into the effectiveness of online and offline marketing efforts, potential strategies to capture customer preference and influence buying behavior, as well as conducting the analysis of customer behavioral and transaction data designed to evaluate digital and brand marketing innovations. The Senior Director partners with business leaders across the Consumer Insights and Revenue Strategy team, the broader Brand, Marketing, Sales, and Consumer Services (BMSC) organization, and Information Resources in order to meet Sales, Digital, Marketing, and Revenue-based business objectives. Find Your World™ at Marriott. **CANDIDATE PROFILE** **Education and Experience** * 10 years of professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance in research, consulting, and research advisory positions. * Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferably in a quantitative discipline (finance, operations research, economics, mathematics, statistics, etc.) required. * MBA or advanced degree in professional studies, operations research, applied mathematics, finance, economics, etc., preferred. **Key Skills and Experiences** * Ability to lead and develop a team of business professionals to achieve strong business results. * Substantial analytical and managerial experience. * Web analytics experience, particularly in-depth knowledge of high-end web analytics software packages, such as Omniture. * Demonstrated analytical ability, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of complex information and present it to senior management in a clear, concise and complete manner which facilitates executive decision making. * Excellent project management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects. * Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the hospitality industry and Marriott’s brand landscape. * Ability to interface with systems professionals in order to develop/refine decision support systems and ensure data integrity. * Knowledge of enterprise scale statistical analysis tools (e.g., SAS or SPSS) * Ability to work as both a team member and team leader to achieve results in a teamwork environment. * Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands from multiple stakeholders. * Ability to build strong relationships to leverage information and insights across key groups (Marriott Digital, other Consumer Insights and Revenue Strategy teams, Information Resources, etc.) **CORE WORK ACTIVITIES** **Leading the team and work that provides solutions for monitoring and evaluating the performance of Marriott’s Marketing efforts, and potential Marketing innovation.** * Leads team that provides tracking and analysis for Marriott’s marketing programs for corporate, regional, and individual hotel marketers worldwide. Scope of reporting and analysis includes the following online and offline marketing mediums: email marketing, search engine optimization, online display advertising, affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertising, local partner links, Marriott.com site promotions, social media, TV, outdoor signage, brand advertising and partnership marketing. * Collaborates with the Customer Insights Analytics, Digital Marketing, Brand Marketing, Rewards, Field Marketing teams and external ad agencies to develop & leverage marketing mix and online attribution models to improve our understanding of the influence of Marriott’s marketing investments on customer purchase decisions and hotel profit and to inform future marketing strategies and investment allocation decisions. * Directs team of analysts to measure and report on the performance of corporate acquisition, life cycle, and partner marketing campaigns. Collaborate with Rewards, Brand, Portfolio and Field Marketing teams to leverage insights developed through this analysis to improve marketing strategy and performance. * Lead efforts to develop and expand Marriott’s predictive marketing valuation models for paid search and other marketing mediums, including on-site personalization and targeted display advertising. * Develop in-depth technical knowledge of web analytics, website tracking, and digital marketing operational processes, and help define data strategies to support marketing analytics. * Leads effort to implement statistically controlled tests to measure the impact of Marriott targeted display advertising and on-site personalization in a scalable fashion. Work with marketing and technology teams to integrate on-going test data into BI applications and real-time marketing decision systems. * Prepares summaries/presentations to communicate findings from analysis to senior management and to marketing managers at Marriott corporate headquarters, regional offices, and individual hotels. * Presents analyses in a way that the information needs for stakeholders are appropriately prioritized, delivered timely and accurate. * Develops a highly functioning team that leverages systems, technologies, and tools to support business needs. **Collaborates across Consumer Insights & Revenue Strategy and Brand, Marketing, Sales, and Consumer Services (BMSC) Discipline Teams.** * Develop marketing mix and online attribution models to improve understanding of the influence of Marriott’s marketing investments on customer purchase decisions and hotel profit. * Leads development of executive level dashboards and analysis briefs to summarize key performance metrics related to the Marketing and other domains summarizing large amounts of data for senior leaders. * Collaborate with Consumer Insights Analysis Services team to ensure that customer level marketing analysis utilizes a consistent definition of our customer segments and consistent approaches to estimating customer value. * Manages and prioritizes requests for new forms of marketing analysis. * Provides guidance to Data Strategy and Reporting Teams on the creation and distribution of reports and dashboards for field and corporate stakeholders. * Connects to the reporting process for monthly hotels reports which measure online activity for over 3,000 individual hotels.
