Opening February 13, 2014 Closing Friday February 28,2014. $54,662.40 to $75,046.40 Annually LOCATION: Augusta The Maine Emergency Management Agency is seeking a Deputy Director ?Administration/Logistics. This position exercises authority and control over all state resources to implement stateside emergency management functions and coordinators with federal agencies and state, county and local entities to ensure effective response and recovery for any major disaster within the State of Maine. State-wide travel is required. This position requires: - Extensive knowledge of emergency management operations including federal and state laws, rules, regulations and policies - Knowledge of resource management processes - Knowledge of information technology applications - Knowledge of the principles and management of federal grant programs - Knowledge of modern management principles and practices - Knowledge of state budgetary, grant and legislative processes - Experience with local, state and federal emergency management and first responder organizations - Experience in project management - Experience in partnership development (both public and private sector) and relationship maintenance - Experience in logistics, asset management and tracking, resource management - Ability to apply leadership principles to engage employees - Ability to supervise financial management operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have 5-10 year combination of training and experience in the emergency management field, business/program management and/or information systems, which demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current concepts and technology, the ability to develop and implement strategic plans for major projects/programs and a record of success in leading management teams.
