Opening Date: 01-23-14 Closing Date: 02-24-14 Location: Machias Position Type: Part time 20 hours/week Benefits are pro rated Grade/Salary: 20 $31,616.00-$42,598.40 $15.20-$20.48/hourly JOB DESCRIPTION: This is professional work providing employment services to a diverse customer population with difficult employment outlooks and histories served by the Department of Human Services TANF/ASPIRE programs. Primary responsibilities include developing, placing TANF/ASPIRE participants and managing volunteer and subsidized work sites with not for profit, state/municipal and county government entities, interviewing, interpreting vocational assessment information relative to employment readiness and work site placement, conducting follow-up, providing pre-vocational guidance, referring customers to CareerCenter programs or services, and facilitating employment related workshops. Work will include management of participating employer work sites and, monthly and routine quarterly reporting of work site development and placement outcomes. Employer and business consultative work includes promotion of workforce development services, job-site assessments, development and facilitation of recruitment strategy, and job development services. This position is for 20 hours per week. Frequent regional travel is required. REPRESENTATIVE TASKS: (A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned). Collects, organizes, and analyzes information from referral source about customers in order to appraise interests, aptitudes, and abilities needed for work site development and placement. Refers customers to work site supervisors/employers to initiate placement. Evaluates and reports customer progress to the referral source through frequent interactions with participants and work site supervisors. Refers participants to CareerCenter workshops and other services in order to improve customer job seeking and interview skil
