(USA-MN-Prior Lake) Business Development Manager
Business Development Representatives (BDRs) work to initiate the sales cycle with new logo or target customers. BDRs work in conjunction with both the SMS Area Directors and Account Executive teams and are responsible for cold calling and qualified appointment setting activities. Although there is a "team" environment, each BDR works independently on his/her own custom territory program and is measured by individual contribution. All essential tools, assets, lists, templates, and training are provided to ensure success. This is a excellent position for self-starters/entrepreneurs with keen work ethic who are motivated, diligent, and positive. Good communication skills (both written and oral) are a must. Position fit for candidates recently out of college, changing careers, or excited about getting into technology sales. Marketing/Business/Communications backgrounds a plus. This is a full-time position with potential for sales career development; if the candidate shows indication of future excellence or achievement and exceeds in the BDR role, he/she may be asked to transition to a Internal Account Manager position or Account Executive. **Responsibilities include:** * Cold Calling New Logo prospects * Execute multiple E-Mail campaigns * Schedule Qualified Appointments both onsite and teleconference for Account Directors and Account Executives. * Follow-up and Track Appointments that have occurred in lockstep with the Account Executive * Relationship Development with New Logo Prospects, Area Directors and Account Executives * Continual Training on advanced E-Mail, Social Media, and Cold Calling techniques * Learn and present the SMS Company Overview and Portfolio of services offered **Experience and Skills:** **Essential Skills:** * Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) * Expertise in SalesForce.com * Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, team oriented, credibility, confidence and unquestioned integrity. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Technology background is a plus. * Collaborative, with strong focus on teamwork both inter-office and with field resources. * Confident and comfortable making daily responsibility decisions. **Required Experience:** * Meet and exceed monthly lead generation quotas. * Generate new revenue opportunities through lead generation of new business customers. * Maintain high activity standards (prospecting, daily cold calls, number of calls per day, executing e-mail campaigns, etc.). * Manage Account Executives prospect funnel accurately and effectively. * Implement sales prospect strategies/call prioritization to achieve all quota targets. * Identify and qualify prospects by telephone, e-mail, social media and other lead generating tools/practices. * Development of prospect lists and vertical measure qualification for SMS Account Executives. * Present products and services with sufficient conversational knowledge and understanding. * Lead generation for outside sales staff. * Accurately forecast and report monthly quotas for revenue and qualified appointments and sales. * Build and enhance relationships with clients/?prospects and SMS Area Directors and Account Executives. * Increase market penetration/development within targeted verticals and geographies. * Minimum of 1 year of telesales/lead generation experience. * Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue quotas within a high activity sales model.? * Must have strong prospecting abilities, lead generation, experience cold calling and solid communication skills.? * Aggressive follow up, account management and moving prospect to “next step” skills.? * Demonstrated success in a changing and high-paced environment.? * A high level of business acumen, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. * Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent a plus. *Department:* Sales *Location:* Prior Lake, MN
