(USA-MN-Saint Cloud) Assistant Bindery Operator
Job Description Set-up and operate cutters, folders, mailers, and tippers. Accountable for efficient operation of equipment; in meeting and exceeding budgeted efficiencies. Accountable for quality of finished products, which is delivered to our internal and external customers. Responsible for leadership in safety, training, housekeeping, attendance, and efficient assignment of crew. **Job Duties Performed**: 1. Set up, operate, adjust and maintain equipment. 2. Direct crews in the functions of boxing, mailing and labeling of products. Coordinate employee work assignments with supervisor when equipment is down. Ensure compliance with postal regulations and supplied written down instructions. 3. Pull quality samples when required and perform mail quality checks when operating mailing equipment or machines with mailing functions. 4. Attend and participate in team meetings for process improvement. 5. Prepare load flags when necessary and place proper mail information on loads for staging. Accurately document production counts and time cards. 6. Operate hand trucks and forklifts in the movement of raw, in-process and finished products within the plant. 7. Fill in for First Operators when needed. 8. Perform other related duties and work overtime as requested by leaders or shift supervisor. 9. Work with chemicals which may be designated as a hazardous waste after use as defined by MPCA regulations. Dispose of chemicals and used shop towels in properly labeled containers. Contact a supervisor with any questions on hazardous waste. Monitor crew members to verify proper disposal of hazardous waste. Participate in annual hazardous waste training specific to department and / or job duties. **Responsibilities:** * Maintain quality and production standards as identified through leaders and standards worksheets. * Work in a safe manner and insure the general work area is kept clean and organized. Actively promote frequent rotation and safe work habits of crew members. * Actively participate in company training programs and process improvement teams. * Participate in on-the-job training programs. Qualifications * Must have previous Finishing Experience. * Must possess solid leadership skills and at times gives directions to crew. * Must be able to interpret verbal and written instructions. * Good math skills. * Good mechanical ability including the use of tools for equipment set-ups and adjustments. * Basic computer skills. * Able to work independently and as a team member. * Must be flexible to meet and adapt to schedules. * Must be able to move up 50 lbs. stand for long periods of time and use hands and wrists continuously. *Requisition Number:* 3876 *Country:* United States *State:* Minnesota *City:* Saint Cloud *Area of Interest:* Manufacturing/Skilled Trades *Job Type:* Full-Time
