(USA-MS-Vicksburg) Environmental Engineer
The mill's environmental engineer performs a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water. This position ascertains levels of pollution and recommends appropriate action to assure conformance with federal, state and municipal legislation and regulations regarding environmental control. The environmental engineer assists in overall planning and installation of equipment revision relating to the environment. He/she performs tests or experiments requiring the use of nonstandard procedures and complex instrumentation. Serves as liaison between the mill and regulatory agencies concerned with environmental control. Typical has 5 to 8 years professional experience. The position level will be based on experience of candidates and ranges from PL 10-13. Key competencies: functional/technical knowledge; problem solving, organizational, communication, planning, customer focus, managerial courage, ehtics and values, and priority setting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Prefer candidate with manufacturing background, experience in EHS area is a plus. Must be selg-motivated and able to multitask. Strong computer skills required.
