Job Location Raleigh, NC Job Description Global Corporate Services is an area within MetLife that touches on a wide variety of technologies and business functions. Our core focus is Procurement, Corporate Real Estate, and General Services, but we also work with Legal, Compliance and LOB partners. From a technical standpoint, we have a little of everything – custom applications, packaged applications installed internally, and hosted SaaS solutions. The Sr. Software Development Engineer – Global Corporate Services will serve as an application development lead for projects related to MetLife’s Ariba spend management system, related procurement technologies, and other technologies within the Global Corporate Services space. Specific responsibilities may include data analysis, system troubleshooting, application development, and coordinating the activities of IT partners for procurement and corporate services initiatives. The candidate should have application development experience with both on-premise and cloud-based solutions, and should have a diverse technical background. If you are an innovative self-starter as well as disciplined, flexible and intuitive, we look forward to meeting you! **Functional Responsibilities:** * Responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. * May have customer interaction. * Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions. * Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary. * Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. * Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems. * Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large scale system. * Maintains records to document program development and revisions. * Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. * Provides technical support to technical vendor resources. * As appropriate; designs and codes business process models; designs and codes business rules and algorithms. * Performs related duties as assigned or requested. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** None. Mentor more junior staff.
