The Lead, Respiratory Therapy is responsible for overall administration * f the Respiratory Therapy department. Coordinates and direct the professional and non-professional staff of the department in their care of patients ranging from 18 years of age to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, medical surgical conditions with rehabilitation and/or wound care needs. Responsible for participating in direct patient care per the needs of the facility. Responsible for the administration and operation of department direction, revenue control, cost containment and expense control, quality of services, records management, supervision and direction of assigned personnel, department image and special demands and requirements. **Minimum Qualifications:** * Ability to project a professional Image. * Possess in-depth knowledge of functions of all hospital departments and specifically Cardiopulmonary department requirements for performance improvement and quality standards as outlined by JCAHO, the Department of Health for the State of employment and Federal regulatory standards as outlined by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). * Knowledge and experience in the needs of patients ranging in age from 18 to geriatric. * Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations. * Strong organizational and analytical skills; excellent writing and speaking skills. * Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.) **Education and/or Experience:** Graduate of an accredited university with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. Minimum of five (5) years acute hospital clinical experience, including Intensive Care Units and Ventilator Management. **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:** Current Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
