1. Bachelor s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or similar degree or equivalent from a college or technical school. Three to five years experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment, or Supplier Quality preferred. 2. Expertise in the use of various quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and various problem solving tools. 3. Experience with ISO 9001:2008 requirements preferred. 4. Proficiency in statistical packages (such as Mini tab) a plus. 5. Familiarity with Daktronics products and internal processes and computer systems is preferred. 6. Working knowledge experience in Lean Manufacturing, Quality, and Six Sigma implementation. 7. Strong oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and self motivation are required. 8. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business communications, governmental regulations, industry standards, and technical procedures, drawings, and specifications. 9. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, customers, and suppliers. 10. Advanced computer skills to include experience with CAD, Word, Excel, Power Point, and digital photo editing. 11. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Be able to stand or sit for the entire shift. 12. Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be checked. Ability to travel over night to domestic and international locations. 13. Work effectively as a team member and with little supervision. 14. Ability to organize work load and prioritize schedule according to company plans. 15. Review and analyze existing processes and equipment operations and improve overall product quality, manufacturing capability, process control, and scrap reduction. . 2. Work with factory Quality Engineers to develop and maintain internal and external quality metrics for work produced by manufacturing, as well as other functional areas as appropriate. Prioritize lead facilitate quality improvement efforts based on the quality data metrics. 3. Develop and improve product and process performance feedback using trend, Pareto, and other quality tools. Analyze and present the data information to support improvement activities. 4. Interview, train, evaluate and mentor employees in order to help grow strong technical leaders. 5. Determine employee, equipment and workstation needs to meet workload requirements. 6. May work closely with student pipeline to promote a continuous growth path within Daktronics. 7. Support lean activities through active participation for those items that may affect quality. 8. Develop and maintain external quality metrics for parts produced by supplier manufacturing, as well as other functional areas as appropriate. Summarize findings for regular Sourcing review. Prioritize lead facilitate supplier quality improvement efforts based on the quality data metrics. 9. Support supplier quality activities, including the evaluation of components and assemblies for first articles, new supplier qualifications, supplier quality metrics, supplier review meetings, and continuous improvement. Management and attendance of supplier quarterly business reviews. 10. Participate in product development teams by providing quality assurance planning in the early stages of new product development. 11. Support quality aspects of the Non Conforming Material Records (NMR), Temporary Deviation Request (TDR) and Engineering Change (ECO) Processes. 12. Provide training and guidance to work groups on topics related to quality. 13. Provide leadership and direction for Quality Personnel.
