JOB DUTIES-ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:• Capable of providing leadership and direction to keep processes optimized and running at peak performance.• Must possess and have demonstrated leadership traits including the ability to work as a team player.• Must have a technical competence base in molding with the ability to optimize existing molding processes and maintain the gains.• Ability to train and demonstrate appropriate molding techniques and methods.• Set up assigned machines and support equipment as directed.• Oversee all injection molding presses observing overall process and quality of molded components.• Interprets the causes of quality problems and makes required adjustments to machine and controls to maintain optimum quality and efficiency.• Support and assist the Process Supervisor in start up of new fabricated tooling, processes and equipment as well as testing and validation requirements.• Ability to operate and understand the function of all equipment in the Molding Department which is under area of responsibility.• Ability to organize and direct progress on numerous assigned projects simultaneously.• Identifies and corrects any condition that would compromise the safety of any employee.• Interface with Shift Supervisor and Machine Operators to optimize product quality and production efficiency.• Must interface and work conjointly with the Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Technician with routine maintenance tasks as required and assist with scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs.• Interface with the Tool room personnel on mold issues and repair needs.• Be available to work overtime as required on any shift.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; talk or hear and wear personal protective equipment that may include Safety shoes, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Smock. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and -or move up to 50 pounds in awkward positions frequently lift and-or move more than 100 pounds in awkward positions. JOB REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months to three years related experience and-or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a good mechanical background.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
