(USA-UT-SALT LAKE CTY) Team Lead - Machine Operator
Summary: This position is primarily responsible for directing the work of a team of employees necessary to run a packaging assembly line. Main Job Responsibilities:1.Provide work direction to up to 12 team members2.Provide on the job training and monitor performance of team members 3.Accurately complete all required documentation 4.Visually inspect product to ensure it is meeting quality specifications5.Maintain work area-equipment cleanliness and follow sanitation procedures6.Meet productivity standards7.Determine and report any equipment or product malfunctions 8.Operate and perform minor repairs on various types of manual and automated equipment required in the packaging process9.Set up equipment and ensure that all required components are available10.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Level: This position is a lead. Guides work of others who perform similar work. May organize, set priorities, schedule, and review work. No responsibility to hire, terminate, or make pay decisions.Qualifications:Leadership Skills-Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently-Displays professionalism by treating others with respect -Sets expectations for team members and monitors delegated activities-Improves processes, products and services-Takes initiative -Observes safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action in unsafe conditionsEducation and Experience: -High school diploma or GED-Two year technical degree or equivalent experience -Leadership or mentoring experience preferred-Experience in a manufacturing environment preferredDependability-Is consistently at work and on time-Follows instructions, responds to management direction-Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals-Takes responsibility for own actions and keeps commitmentsCommunication Skills-Communicates clearly orally and in writing in the English language-Writes legibly-Able to read and interpret written information-Bilingual in English and Spanish preferredTechnical Skills-Comfortable with machinery -Ability to make adjustments to and trouble shoot equipment -Familiarity with basic tools such as allen wrench and crescent wrenches, etc.-Follows technical policies and procedures-Demonstrates accuracy and monitors work to ensure qualityMathematical Skills-Understands and uses basic math functions: add-subtract-multiply-divide-Ability to understand and use percentages and ratios-Able to compute weights and quantitiesPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and-or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and-or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and-or move up to 50 pounds.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles and working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
