Job Description:U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be willing to undergo a Federal Government agency background check to secure the required clearance.Job Summary:This individual will serve as an expert in project management and will manage all aspects of a moderately complex information technology project or multiple, medium-scale IT projects. This includes project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication, and cost. He or She will execute information technology projects from the original concept through the final implementation as well as ensure that the projects are aligned with standards and IT strategies. Finally, the Lab Manager will be responsible for establishing and communicating goals to their team and directing their team's activity.Job Responsibilities:- Interface with government agency users and Business Area Owners to capture requirements and lab testing needs- Define and maintain a process to enable government agency users and business areas to request lab testing resources- Coordinate with government agency client to facilitate the prioritization of lab resources- Maintain up to date inventory of all Lab hardware including but not limited to servers, firewalls, routers, switches, racks and PDUs.- Maintain software library and inventory of all software licenses.- Maintain up to date list of all subnets and static IPs assigned to lab users.- Work with hardware vendors on break/fix issues such as returning failed hard-drives, CMOS batteries, power supplies, etc., and replacing those items upon receipt.- Provide trending and forecasting of lab hardware and software needs.- Provide trending and forecasting of lab environmental needs such as power and cooling requirements.- Rack, cable and configure lab hardware including but not limited to servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and PDUs.- Work with Storage Engineers to configure adequate hard-drive space for virtual servers.- Configure and maintain all computing equipment and ensure network functionality in assigned areas.- Manage the network servers and lab electronics including peripherals, user accounts and all other equipment.- Ensure that lab equipment is maintained and repaired when necessary.- Assist lab users (i.e. troubleshoot, train users, produce a lab guide/booklet or handout-Price and recommend hardware and software purchases.
