Requisition ID: Job Title: **Scientific Writer** **Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:** The Scientific Writer is responsible for high quality written scientific documents for funding applications and publications. Specific tasks include writing, editing, and proofreading grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, abstracts, white papers, clinical protocols, and other scientific documents. Will work independently and with others to identify new funding opportunities for City of Hope investigators. Will assist with planning and conducting educational courses and workshops and with developing and assembling scientific documents (e.g., multi-investigator institutional grants, annual/occasional reports, progress reports for grants, etc.), as necessary. **Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:** * PhD required, preferably in biology, biochemistry, or other life science, plus one or more years scientific writing experience, preferably in a healthcare, research, or academic environment; or Masters Degree with three or more years of scientific writing experience in a healthcare/research environment. * Experience in writing grants, including NIH R01 proposals, is preferred. Requires excellent written and verbal English, excellent organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and competence with internet searches. * .
