(USA-NC-Oxford) Mechanic A - Electronics/Electrician



Description Basic Function: Handles electronic troubleshooting, testing, repairs, services and maintenance of facility equipment. Major Duties: * Troubleshoots electronic circuitry-following a logical sequence, identifies faulty components and repairs or replaces them. * Remains current and up-to-date with new technology and events occurring in the field of industrial electronics. * Assists in cross-training of other technicians. * Installs, checks, adjusts and repairs machinery, conveyors and misc. equipment as required for plant operation and in compliance with national, state, county, and city codes as well as company procedures. * Maintains required records. * Monitors and operates equipment in accordance with established procedures. * Maintains a safe working condition in assigned work areas. * Keeps assigned work areas clean and orderly. * Performs other related duties as may be assigned. * Has ability to operate shop equipment as required. * Has knowledge of all major equipment and systems in the company facilities. * Plans, initiates, and completes job assignments in a prompt and timely manner. * Makes suggestions to management on better, more efficient and less costly methods to complete jobs. * Communicates immediately to supervision any personnel problems, job coordination problems, parts or tools shortages, damage observed to equipment or building, accidents or safety hazards, company policy violations or any other information in your judgments that needs attention. * Must be able to respond to plant emergencies. Requirements * At least five (5) years experience in maintenance in manufacturing equipment and at least three (3) years in industrial electronics. * Ability to operate power shop tools as well as common hand tools. * Have a good work attendance record and available to work overtime as required. * Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, prints or schematics. * Ability to fabricate or modify a circuit with or without a schematic. * Ability to operate electronical test equipment (oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, rf-oscillator, digital frequency counter, inductance – capacitance and resistance meter). * Must be able to lift and carry objects weighting 50+ lbs and maneuver containers weighing up to 500 lbs. * Able to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs. * Able to stand and/or walk 90% (sitting 10%) of an 8-hr day which includes climbing a ladder or steps. * Must meet the vision and hearing requirements. * Must meet the forklift requirements.
