Our client is one of the leading hospital in Abu Dhabi is currently seeking to recruit a Financial Controller. You will be reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, this position will serve as a primary resource providing administrative, analytical and managerial support related to financial activities of the company and other related projects. Key responsibilities for this position will include financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, budgeting and all accounting related activities of the Company
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops financial goals and objectives for the company
• Manages and oversees general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, financial reporting and fixed assets for the company
• Supervises the areas of accounting/financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and fixed assets, which includes hiring, training and disciplining employees
• Ensures that all activities are functioning properly and that appropriate policies and procedures are developed, implemented and maintained to ensure the appropriate accounting and reporting
• Works with other Company’s personnel to confirm that appropriate internal control mechanisms, policies and procedures are in place to ensure that the company’s financial activity is accounted-for and reported accurately
• Maintains and updates Delegation of Authority and ensures all financial transactions are correctly undertaken accordingly
• Manages the monthly close process to ensure the timely and accurate accounting and reporting for the Company
• Holds responsibility for Company’s accounting methodologies and general ledger closing functions, including:
-Oversees the compilation and preparation of all Company’s financial statements
-Compiles all financial data from Company’s subsidiary ledgers
-Consolidates financial data, including eliminating entries, to provide total Company’s consolidated statements
-Prepares analyses of specific accounts, review all account reconciliations
-Distributes month-end reports
-Develops and maintains a system of internal controls over financial reporting
• Coordinates audit activities for the Company
• Researches new accounting guidelines, undertakes accounting technical interpretations and implements changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate accounting guidelines
• Maintains active involvement in the Capital Approval Process and allocation and tracking of project funds
• Oversees the property and liability insurance program
• Provides support for business development initiatives
• Ensures accurate and timely payroll and benefit accrual
• Other duties as may be required
