Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PLC systems used in industrial automation.
- PLC Programming:
- Develop, write, and implement PLC programs to control automated machinery and processes.
- Modify existing PLC programs as needed to improve efficiency or address issues.
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and set up new PLC systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the proper functioning of PLC systems.
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues in PLC systems.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to PLCs and associated equipment.
- Analyze system malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Testing and Validation:
- Conduct tests to ensure the accuracy and reliability of PLC programs.
- Validate and verify the functionality of newly installed or modified systems.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of PLC programs, configurations, and system changes.
- Create technical documentation for troubleshooting procedures and guidelines.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, electricians, and other technical staff to integrate PLC systems with other components of an industrial automation setup.
Training:
- Provide training to operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and troubleshooting of PLC systems.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all PLC systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Typically, a degree or diploma in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
Experience:
- Practical experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with various PLC platforms and software.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
Communication:
- Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information effectively.
