Primary Purpose of the Job:
A BIM Manager is the person who manages the BIM Team/ process during the project life cycle (design, construction, and handover), he is the one who prepares and implements the BIM strategy, execution plan, and BIM Standards in the project, he is the leader of BIM coordination Process, as well as managing the Project Template Set-up: Setting up projects from scratch with company BIM standards, making early decisions on how to break-up the models and distribute them based on design and construction team needs, geographical location and collaboration requirements. Finally lead BIM Kick-off meetings.
Principal Accountability:
- Develop Detailed Fitout designs and Highly detailed drawings by hand and using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications.
- Managing and leading the BIM production team.
- Preapare and implement BIM Strategies.
- Preapare and implement BIM execution plans.
- Preapare and implement BIM standards.
- Responsible for design team compliance with the BIM project standards.
- Responsible for design team compliance with the BIM execution plans.
- Working closely with the design team to ensure that BIM standards have been digested and properly implemented.
- Liaise with the design team to ensure that changes in procedures and standards are effectively communicated to the project team.
- Daily management of BIM project data sets/ workflows and project setup.
- Interrogation of the design input of the model to identify clashes and produce/ manage cash register.
- Manage the BIM coordination process.
- Interface with the project planner to create a virtual build of the 3D model.
- Connect BIM to on-site activities through the site management system.
- Manage and maintain project content and source additional content for project teams.
- Prepare asbuilt models as per client requirements including COBie and asset management information.
- Manage BIM productivity and make sure that BIM deliverables are met in a timely manner
