(GBR-Atherstone) Programme Support Manager



We are looking for an articulate, organised individual to join the Programme Management Office (PMO) to facilitate the development and ongoing management of a global change programme, ensuring senior management decisions lead to the fulfilment of strategic objectives through the delivery of cross-functional programmes and projects. The PMO supports the business to improve its chances of successfully delivering strategy by providing governance standards and processes to deliver projects aligned to strategic initiatives in all functional and business areas. The PMO are the centre of excellence for programme and project management, providing assurance, coaching and mentoring to build and improve the competency within the organisation.


The successful candidate will:



  • Develop and implement a Programme Management methodology and governance process to improve the long term capability for managing business change

  • Provide support and guidance to Programme Managers to follow a best practice approach to programme and project methodology by championing the benefits and eliminating risk and issues

  • Keep the Programme Office Manager informed of the status and performance of Programmes, whilst notifying if key decisions and risks need to be escalated to the Steering Group

  • Continually improve performance management tools across projects / programmes with Business Partners (HR, Express Finance)

  • Develop strong relationships with the Steering Group, Business Partners and the ‘Change Community’ to improve the effectiveness of PMO processes

  • Facilitate governance / programme meetings and communicate outcomes

  • Develop and maintain the portfolio plan

  • Develop and maintain a resource capacity plan, mapping available resources against programmes and projects

  • Develop and maintain a Dependencies Register

  • Assess benefit planning and realisation across a number of programmes and project to identify gaps, overlays and conflicts and eliminate double counting


This role requires you to influence, shape and challenge our senior business leaders to ultimately ensure that programmes and projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. Previous experience of Programme Management is a must and your strong interpersonal skills, ability to drive change and understanding of the wider commercial aspects will also be needed.
