Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer working on Medium Voltage switchgears at our Leeds site


*As one of the Quality Engineers within our team your will *




  • Audit monitoring and drive improvements to ensure the company retains its ISO9001 certification, reduces non-conformity costs and constantly improves the level of quality. Prepare and maintain elements of the quality system documentation to ensure processes are kept in line with current practice and ISO9001 requirements.




  • Support the production of Quality plans and inspection plans, assist in the development of quality improvement strategies & support action plan implementation.




  • Raise the profile of quality strategies and indicators to drive improvement actions. Facilitate corrective and preventative actions following product problems. The position leads the employee to be in the interface and cooperate with all the others support functions (such as Industrial, Maintenance, Logistics, Purchasing...) but also with the shop floor teams.




Your key responsibilities will be to




  • Support on quality issues raised by the production the Shopfloor by attending all cross-functional daily SIM (Short Interval Management) meetings. Communicate to the team on defects with Pareto analysis and associated action plan.




  • Use 8D analysis on key issues and deploy it as a standard tool to manage Customer Complaints and Manufacturing recurrent defects.




  • Define and Maintain the Process Control Plan in collaboration with the Offer Quality Leader to ensure the product is compliant with the specification along the time and track all potential deviations through a Monitoring plan of the product.




  • Measure and Improve the main Key Performance Indicators for the products within the perimeter of responsibilities: PRR (Plant Return Rate) & MDR (Manufacturing defect rate)




  • Reinforce the risk management by ensuring a good deployment of Process and Design FMEA. Assist to FMEA meetings and manage Quality actions




  • If 6sigma trained, manage 6sigma project on key complex problems.

  • 8D deployment for complex issues
