Short Description:
Application support of the Work Services Platform (WSP). This is a highly technical role requiring incident investigation, problem analysis, RCA and software development in support of a pathfinder application developed using Agile methodologies.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong, broad, technical background in deploying, configuring, administering and supporting applications for large scale commercial systems.
The person needs to have a broad knowledge of IT - clients, servers, storage, networks, applications etc. Strong technical skills are essential particularly in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The person must be able to work in a team and demonstrate the ability to follow ITIL processes. Good problem solving skills are required with the ability to analyse and determine root cause in a methodical way.
The role is to work within a team supporting several other applications as well as WSP. Although this role is primarily for WSP support, there may be future opportunities to extend skill sets to support the additional applications.
The job is based in Newcastle.

Highly Desirable skills for this role are:
Microsoft Dynamics CRM
SQL Server Databases and reporting services
Java script
C# .Net
Useful but not essential experience:
Star Team
DWNG
Knowledge of Active Directory and ADFS.
The Work Services Platform application.
Experience of working to Edge and ITIL incident and problem management processes.
Other desirable skills and knowledge:
The ideal candidate will have a proactive, self-starting nature with a ‘can do’ attitude. The candidate should also have a proven track record in delivering to tight timescales and be innovative in their approach and use of tools and methodologies.
The role will include a degree of customer interaction. It is essential that the candidate is able to communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to a non-technical audience.
‘Whilst the position being offered is Newcastle based there may be a requirement for an amount of initial travel outside of the Newcastle area for knowledge transfer and training. The precise amount of travel required will be discussed at interview.
