## Description **Role Title:** Electronic/ Electrical Design Engineer **Job Band:** E3 **Job Family:** Sr Electrical Engineer **Salary Range:** 30, 800 GBP to 57,100 GBP **_Overall Purpose:_** As a result of new investment into the FireStorm product line, a vacancy has arisen for an engineer skilled in Electronic and Electrical design. This role will be to take responsibility for providing detailed Electronic and Electrical design within the Targeting engineering group, ranging from electronic circuit schematic design of low frequency analogue and digital circuits and electrical design of system interconnecting power and data cables. In addition the candidate will be well versed in design for Environmental considerations (EMC, Climatic and Mechanical) and familiar with the relevant military qualification standards. **_Key Accountabilities:_** **Design Responsibility**: Take overall responsibility for design of the modules to specification **Commercial Responsibility**: Ensuring quality and on-time delivery within budget. **Professional Conduct**: Conduct oneself in a professional manner and in accordance with Rockwell Collins Values **Professional Development**: Keep abreast of relevant developments in electronic/electrical engineering that will benefit Rockwell Collins product line **_Authority:_** Take direction from System Architect on the scope of the module to be designed Take direction from Technical Project Manager on the budget and timescale constraints Responsible to engineering line management for professional conduct Responsible to engineering manager for professional development **_Please note:_** 1. This position is based in Reading 2. Applicant must hold or have the ability obtain SC level of security clearance 3. UK nationality or leave to remain is required.Applicant should be legally eligible to work in the UK**** 4. Relationships: Develop relationships with others that are based on trust. **Writing:** Produce reports and proposals that are clearly and concisely written. **_Key Qualifications and Experience:_** Degree qualified in Electronic and/or Electrical Engineering - Must Current experience of designing multiple electronic & electrical products for the aerospace & defence market, which have been successfully transferred to production - Must Ability to achieve UK MoD security clearance - Must Experience in designing electronic circuitry to interface with MEMS sensors - Desirable Demonstrated ability to deliver clearly documented, accurate and robust designs - Must Be able to coach and assist other engineers in the use of complex electronic design techniques - Desirable Have knowledge and interpretation of compliance standards - Must Designing for manufacture and test by third party EMS - Must Experience of conducting design reviews for electronic & electrical sub-systems - Must Experience in integrating hardware and embedded software - Must Experience developing electronic hardware designs that form part of a broader Systems Engineering project - Desirable Experience in reviewing and assessing the technical merits of electronic designs from sub-contract suppliers - Must Rockwell Collins is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse global culture that values teamwork, integrity, innovation, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to our customers. *Job:* Electrical / Hardware *Primary Location:* ENG-RCUK-Reading, England *Organization:* European Engineering 1 *Schedule:* Full-time *Req ID:* TAR00000001
