The Humber Refinery is located in North Lincolnshire, one of the most complex refineries within the Phillips 66 portfolio is one of the most sophisticated in Europe, with a crude oil processing capacity of 221,000 barrels per day it refines the most economically advantaged crude oils to help shape today’s energy landscape. The only coking refinery in the UK and the world’s largest producer of specialty graphite cokes and the largest anode coke producer in Europe. Humber Refinery is recognised as one of the best in the world.


Responsibilities


The Mechanical Engineer may be responsible for:



  • Providing technical support to operations to ensure the safe continued running of the refinery

  • Troubleshooting equipment problems and implement solutions

  • Reviewing equipment performance to ensure suitability and recommend improvements

  • Managing numerous (>20) projects/activities meeting all deadlines

  • Developing all mechanical design work for minor to intermediate size projects (£100,000 to £1,000,000)

  • Developing cost estimates and business justification for improvement projects as well as their own recommendations.

  • Specifying, procuring and installing replacement vessels, heat exchangers, piping etc.

  • Reviewing proposed mechanical designs, by others, to ensure adequacy and code/company standard compliance.

  • Ensuring their continuous professional development as well as assisting with developing other engineers.

Basic/Required Qualifications




  • Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions




  • A degree in an engineering discipline at level 2:1 or higher




  • Chartered or Associate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
