Title: Occupational Health Nurse Location: Canada Job Number: CAN00292 Cargill Meat Solutions business, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, is comprised of 7 business units including beef, pork, turkey, value added meats, case ready, distribution and feeder operations. The Occupational Health Nurse , located in Calgary, AB and reporting to the HR Manager, is responsible for providing occupational health services including education, promotion of positive health models through wellness initiatives, and treatment of stakeholder illness and injury, while adhering to provincial legislation and professional association guidelines. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, energetic team player who enjoys a modern fast-paced work environment in NE Calgary. Principal Accountabilities: * First-aid or primary care to all individuals reporting to the Health Unit and conduct physical and oral assessment of injuries and illnesses * Develop objectives and implement wellness and ergonomic programs that align with company plan * Conduct orientation for new stakeholders on injury reporting to meet corporate and WCB requirements * Assist in absenteeism program * Manage disability claims * Participate in professional nursing organizations and seek out professional growth and development opportunities * Expected to work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety * Maintaining accurate records, monitoring and assessing employee's * Ability to problem solve and think critically Qualifications: Required: Current registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta preferably with a certificate in Occupational Health Nursing Preferred: * Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing * Minimum 5 years job-related in a health care setting with demonstrated expertise in occupational health and safety, wellness and ergonomic programs, WCB claims management, early and safe return to work programs. * Knowledge of provincial legislation * Strong nursing physical assessment skills and documentation * Proficient computer skills * Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and interpersonal skills * Demonstrated ability to be self-directed but able to work with various teams and team members. * LPN with interest or experience in Occupational Health Nursing will be considered Cargill Limited is the Canadian subsidiary of Cargill Inc., an international corporation and respected world leader in agriculture.
