(USA-FL-West Palm Beach) Network Support Technician
Description: Job Title: Network Support Technician Job ID: Location: West Palm Beach, FL Job Description: Harris IT is looking for a Network Support Technician in West Palm Beach, FL to assist in monitoring and responding to hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques. · Assists with installation of networking equipment and associated hardware. Requires knowledge of data scopes, patch panels, modems, concentrators, and associated terminals and network management software. · Performs as the first line of defense to take appropriate action toward resolving network problems as they appear. · Detects, analyzes, and resolves network switching and transmission system problems while minimizing impact on customer service. · Differentiates between primary and secondary network failures. · Based on the severity or type of event, determines what additional resources are required. · Issues service interruption reports to requisite government agencies. Qualifications: •High School diploma or equivalent plus 0-3 years experience. •Security+ or higher level 8570 IAT Level I certification Preferred Additional Skills: · Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers · Proficient in network monitoring/management systems familiarity. · Strong leadership and interpersonal skills · Solid written and verbal communication skills · Experience with application of DoD IAVAs and STIGs · Strong investigative drive · Self-motivated individuals · Strong listening skills · The ability to work under pressure and be flexible with their time · Ability to work autonomously, self-starter · Able to think outside the box and make decisions quickly · Ability to prioritize and document tasks is a plus. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
