The Spirit of Caring Responsibilities The Data Network Communications Technician reports to the System Manager of Electronic Communication Services (ECS) and is responsible for making repairs to telecommunication equipment and for completing requests for equipment moves, adds or changes. Provides training to end-user on various equipment to include the telephone, cell phones, pagers, etc. Trains Data Communication Network Technicians. Responsible for the design and installation of telecommunication products. Specific duites include but are not limited to: 1)Completes requests for telecommunication equipment moves, adds and changes. 2)Makes repairs to telecommunication equipment (i.e., telephones, faxes, etc.) as required. 3) Processes and maintains appropriate cable record documentation which tracks telephone specifications, physical location, phone number, etc into database system daily. 4) Troubleshoots telephone, pager and cells phone issues by assessing, diagnosing and determining appropriate course of action to bring about a resolution. 5) Provides end-user training on telephone, cell, and pager systems as needed. 6) Assists with telephone network cabling installation and design for effective telecommunication performance. 7) Provides after hours support as required. 8) Installs and maintains peripheral systems for overhead paging system, pagers and fax servers. Pulls cabling for computer and telephone networking. 9) Provides training to Data Network Communication Techs Qualifications Minimum Qualifications *Five (5) years experience in installation and support of complex switching or Public Branch Exchange (PBX) systems.
