(USA-MS-Columbus) Fuel Systems Specialist, CAFB / Columbus
This Position is for an Fuel Systems Specialist, CAFB, Columbus, MS with a company location in Columbus, MS.Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: Removes, replaces, repairs, installs, and modifies fuel system components, using appropriate technical data; Performs tasks with minimum supervision; Observes all safety precautions required in fuel systems maintenance; Drains fuel from tanks and cells and purges cells; Removes, disassembles, repairs, reassembles, and installs components; Tests, patches, cleans, and inspects fuel cells; Determines the need for sealant and ensures necessary seals are in place and functional; Inspects and repairs aircraft fuel systems; Monitors bench stock, shop stock, and CTKs; Troubleshoots, defuels, and drains aircraft; Performs on and off-equipment maintenance as required; Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation; Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times; Must obtain all certifications required to perform the job requirements; May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections; May be assigned to maintain TO files, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas; Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed; Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct; Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies; When assigned to a Sortie Generation Flight, required to be qualified in flight line activities; Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel; Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required; Receives cross-utilization training and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.Requirements and Qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Specialized related courses are required; Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English; Must have a minimum of two years recent experience in aircraft fuel systems repair; AFSC 454XX or equivalent is required; however, at company discretion, this may be waived if the individual can meet the training requirements stipulated in TO 1-1-3; Possesses a thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of aircraft fuel system components; Must be knowledgeable of maintenance publications, safety procedures and policies; When using a respirator, must be able to obtain a good face-piece-to-face seal; Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line drivers license and may be required to obtain and maintain a class CDL; Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces; Physical exertion requirement is medium.
