Electrical Systems Division: The AREVA Electrical Systems Division is part of the Engineering & Projects Design Organization. This group provides design & analyses support, including technical specification input and overall electrical systems design for installed base nuclear facility design projects, in addition to new builds and re-start projects. Typical Projects include: * Nuclear Plant modification/modernization projects including, detailed design drawings, equipment specifications and design change packages. * Electrical systems analysis including short-circuit, voltage drop, transient analysis and arc-flash calculations using ETAP Software. * New plant design, including licensing as well as detailed design. * 10CFR50, Appendix R Analysis involving circuit analysis, cable routing and fire area compliance assessments. * Studies and engineering evaluations detailing recommended and alternative technical approaches to resolve design related issues or justify existing conditions. Job Description: AREVA is seeking anElectrical Engineering Intern. This internship will provide real world engineering experience in support of design modifications for operating nuclear power plants. You will work under the guidance of a mentor while performing engineering tasks within AREVA's design and change processes. Training will be provided to familiarize the intern with nuclear power plants and AREVA processes. Assignments may involve some responsibility for planning and conducting a complete task or portion of a larger more diverse project under the direction of more experienced engineering personnel. Projects will typically include supporting a variety of Electrical designs in support of plant modifications & upgrades. Some examples are as follows: * Prepare electrical calculations/analyses for a wide range of nuclear power plant systems. * Prepare design documents and checklists in support of modification design packages. * Perform research on electrical equipment operational parameters. All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this temporary Intern opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position. * Completed a minimum of 3 years of engineering course work in pursuit of a BS Electrical Engineering degree * Strong Academic Record (please add a copy of your transcript to your profile) * Strong emphasis on attention to detail and product quality * Fundamental computer skills (Word, Excel) * Good planning, communication and organization skills * Ability and attitude to learn a variety of new procedures, processes, and tools, while maintaining various stages of production * Ability to begin work May 2014 for approximately 3 months.
