Master of Business Administration or equivalent education and related training 2. Five to seven years of work experience in a bank, consulting firm or financial service company, working on teams with responsibility for strategic planning, product management, sales force effectiveness, and industry analysis 3. Strong leadership and marketing skills 4. Ability to interact with senior management and clients 5. Ability to work independently 6. Superior verbal, business writing, and presentation communication skills 7. Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and manage/resolve conflict 8. Ability to represent BB&T; in a professional manner at conferences, seminars and client interaction 9. Visionary in terms of fully advancing concepts to implementation and subsequent stages of product life cycle management 10. Ability to travel as needed, occasionally overnight Responsibilities: 1. Lead the implementation and delivery of product solutions for assigned market segments across multiple teams and delivery channels including Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Information Technology. Manage a product management process designed to deliver a market differentiated product set in retail and/or commercial market segments. Conceptualize new feature/functionality of assigned product(s); translate product specifications into functional requirements. 2. Develop and support all initiatives that drive revenue and volume growth, enhance product performance and profitability and identify new product distribution channels. 3. Lead the team to execute product strategies and enhancements for product lines in defined market segments designed to differentiate BB&T; from its competitors through integration; lead and direct cyclical comprehensive product reviews focusing on product performance and profitability. 4. Monitor competitors (bank and non-bank) to report on developing trends and potential impacts to BB&T;?s product market share. Oversee the development of market analyses and identify strategic opportunities in the marketplace. Stay abreast of economic, regulatory, and competitive developments as they impact product areas. 5. Implement product management plans, including development, enhancement, promotional and pricing recommendations. Lead the product development and product management review process for assigned market segments; monitor and report profitability and product performance metrics (including transaction volumes, revenue and number of clients monthly); provide leadership and direction to the Marketing Department in developing promotional programs for assigned products. 6. Develop and expand partnerships with other business units or external parties to coordinate promotional, development, and product positioning strategy and activities. 7. Facilitate the development of departmental budgets and business priorities in accordance with established guidelines; administer compliance to meet budgetary goals and negotiate changes as required. 8. Participate in appropriate trade and related groups to ensure knowledge of industry ?best practices? and to ensure BB&T;?s interests are represented. 9. Monitor information sources (qualitative and quantitative) to develop strategic strategies for specific industries and solutions that satisfy those industries better than competitors. 10. Strive to attain professional certifications and recognition in assigned product area. 11. Support, mentor and develop leadership qualitiess in other product associates.
