A minimum of five years of full time experience in a training or curriculum design role, which must include experience assessing training needs, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training programs. Experience delivering supervisory training. Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles. Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills (Microsoft - Excel/PowerPoint/Word). Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree. Experience designing and delivering compliance based training programs. Experience with on-line training. Experience with additional computer programs to include: Adobe Captivate, Blackboard, Camtasia, or other related programs. Experience utilizing a Learning Management System. PHR or SPHR or CPLP. Brief Description of Duties:The HRS Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting training programs. The incumbent will undertake assessment of organizational training needs. S/he will consult with administrative/academic units and undertake analysis of training data. The HRS Trainer ensures presentation of HRS related compliance material. The selected candidate will: * Develop, implement and conduct training programs for the West Campus, The Health Science Center, Southampton and coordinate other areas providing SME training ex: Environmental Health & Safety. Undertake quality assurance review. Ensure that new employee orientation is provided to all new hires. * Determine training strategy and resource requirements for all training projects in technical, operational and behavioral content areas, including the administration of new employee orientation programs and informational workshops and courses. Design/assist in design of online courses. * Work with the Training Coordinator to ensure the preparation and distribution of training calendars, training materials, and other program marketing materials. * Meet with department managers requesting customized training sessions, analyze their needs and designs programs accordingly. Write training proposals for departmental approval and ensure that the necessary materials and training space for the workshop are available for use. * Identify, establish and maintain working relationships with internal resources and external providers of training or educational opportunities for employees, i.e. GOER, RF, CSEA and/or independent training vendors like SkillSoft. * Meet with VPC's and Supervisors to ensure an ongoing review of training needs and implementation of appropriate workshops occur. Works with Labor Relation Coordinators of WPV to ensure that compliance requirements are met for annual and customized trainings. * Other duties as assigned as they pertain to the position. Special Notes:This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
