As a member of the Media and Process Technology Group, leverage a strong technical background and proven Project Management skills along with knowledge of multiple Media Manufacturing processes and equipment for projects ranging from technical and / or mechanical problem resolution, formulation and process improvements, product transfers and transfer of technology from R&D; (Research and Development) to Manufacturing. Duties and Responsibilities: * Lead Projects and / or act as an integral member of project teams tasked with resolving technical issues or continuous improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. * Conceptualize, develop, investigate and troubleshoot product designs, formulations, and manufacturing processes and equipment. * Develops workable project plans and timelines and successfully leads project team to meet goals. * Readily identify and analyze problems and generate effective courses of action. * Independently apply scientific principles to achieve project objectives, including the design and execution of experiments and the analysis and interpretation of results. * Perform tasks according to existing protocols and adapt protocols to new situations as required, in a GMP/GLP environment. * Collects, records, reports, and interprets data in a manner consistent with QSR, ISO, and GMP guidelines. * Presents results to team members and leadership orally and in writing. * Performs work independently with a minimum of Managerial input. * Interacts with others with MPT, Media Manufacturing, R&D; and other functions within BD and with external customers, vendors and suppliers. Knowledge and Skills: * Successful project management experience is required. * Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting is required. * Experience in process development utilizing automated manufacturing equipment within a regulated (GMP / QSR) industry desired. * Experience in analysis of manufacturing processes, development of process improvements, and validation of process changes desired. * Experience with processes including fluid dispense and filling, lyophilization, labeling, and packaging a plus. * Knowledge / skill in the area of Fermentation is desired. * Excellent communication skills, ability to work within a team environment, ability to lead a project team, and ability to prioritize responsibilities required. * Basic Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet usage required. * Six Sigma training or knowledge preferred. * Strong background in Microbiology is desired. Previous experience in industry is desired. Education and Experience: * B.S. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or closely related science OR B.E. in Chemical Engineering or closely related engineering degree * 4 - 6 years of related experience in product / process formulation and optimization or Advanced Degree in related science/engineering with 2+ years of related experience. * Pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry experience, with a strong record of successful Project Management skills is required. * Experience working in the area of Fermentation is desired.
