*Description/Job Summary* LABORATORY MANAGER US Ecology Texas, Inc. (USET) is seeking an experienced “hands on” Laboratory Manager to assist with the oversight of laboratory operations of our hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility (TSDF) located near Corpus Christi, Texas. The Laboratory Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will supervise a staff of 3-6 employees. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with accuracy, possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and be able to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously. Specific responsibilities include 1) Oversight and management of laboratory resources, to ensure safe, regulatory compliance and expeditious processing of technical information and analysis in support of site objectives. 2) Manage within permit conditions and applicable state and federal regulations (RCRA), Waste Analysis plan and good safety processes. 3) Supervise personnel engaged in performing chemical and physical analytical methods required for quality control of processes and products, and oversee operations of schedules and activities to ensure production and quality meet requirements. 4) Responsible for making recommendations on plant finances, materials, human resources and efficiency of operations. 5) Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, ensuring safe operations, addressing complaints, solving problems, evaluating performance, and rewarding & disciplining employees. 6) Other duties as assigned. * Experience and Skills:* * Must have 7-10 years related experience * Manage and maintain multiple compliance schedules and tasks * Good knowledge of state and federal hazardous waste regulations (RCRA experience a plus) * Must have organics experience, QA/QC on laboratory equipment and instrumentation. * NELAC and Perkin-Elmer equipment experience preferred. * Strong organizational and personnel management skills * Level of Physical Activity Required:* • Driving, walking, lifting, and basic mechanical activity associated with landfill operations are required to perform the essential functions of the position. * Educational Requirements:* A minimum of a Bachelor Degree from a four-year college or university in the field of Chemistry or related science or related science or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. * Work Status Requirement:* Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
