(USA-UT-SALT LAKE CITY) Director, Development-Social Services
The Bennion Center director promotes, supports, and coordinates U of U studentsE€™ involvement in community service, community leadership, community engaged learning, and civic engagement through sponsorship of extra-curricular service programs and through support and encouragement of academic offerings. Responsibilities include oversight of Bennion Center programming, including collaboration with students, faculty, academic units, various advisory boards and committees, Bennion Center alumni, U of U staff, and a range of community-based organizations. The director is also responsible for managing ten full-time and part-time staff as well as volunteers involved in the work of the Bennion Center. In addition, the director assumes responsibility for office management, fiscal oversight, and development and oversight of fund-raising. The director advocates within and outside the University community for the values of lifelong civic involvement and for campus-community engagement. The Center director reports through the Associate Vice President of Student Development in Student Affairs and the Senior Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs-Dean of Undergraduate Studies and works closely with the Bennion Center Advisory Board and related committees, the Community Engaged Learning (CEL) Task Force, the Office of Engagement, and the Student Advisory Committee.
