## Description (We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.) **Summary:** Serves as a technical resource, planning data models and database structural design, and development. Creates complex queries and reports; creates stored procedures, triggers, and functions; analyzes trends in key metrics. Re-engineers and creates code in SQL to extract, transform and load data from production data sources to the data warehouse. Ability (or willingness to learn) to manipulate the Microsoft Analysis Services cubes. Contributes to the design, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures; reviews and evaluates database and server performance. Monitors industry trends and directions; develops and presents technical recommendations to members of the IS team. Works within data policies and procedures for structural design and development to ensure data standards. **________________________________________________________________________________** **_Essential Functions_** Serve as a technical resource in coordination with senior team members for data and database related work. Displays advanced level SQL skills. 1. Database Management, Reporting, and Development 2. Manage data residing on the SQL servers, including import / export of data, formatting, refreshing, backup maintenance plans, data transformation, and optimization. 3. Apply SQL skills, tools and technologies to the assessment and measurement of Ascentia's client programs. 4. Design and develop system to system interfaces using SQL and integration technologies. Maintain internal/external production interfaces. 5. Respond to requests for data by creating and running SQL queries providing the information in the requested format. 6. Works within data policies and procedures for structural design and development to ensure data standards. 7. Participate in the decision making to determine the need for outside IT vendors and consultants. 8. Generate code to extract, transform and load data from production data sources to the data warehouse. 9. Ability (or willingness to learn) to build and manipulate the Microsoft Analysis Services cubes. 10. Lead and perform data Q/A in partnership with other IS team members on work product prior to delivery. **_Ancillary Functions_** 1. Actively participate and contribute in client and parent company meetings as requested, addressing both technical and strategic agendas. 2. Maintain knowledge of current technologies in the healthcare industry which support physician practice management initiatives within IPAs or other physician organizations and share this information openly and regularly within the IS team. **_Other Skills_** * * 1. Knowledge of healthcare industry and data standards and architectures 2. Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure and SQL code 3. Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity 4. Ability to develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated 5. Ability to project database resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment and facilities. Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies 6. Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resources staff 7. Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus 8. Providing technical and data leadership to the application development group, IT and the enterprise including being conversant with and cognizant of the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise 9. Recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion ## Qualifications **Experience: **4-6 years hands on experience in data analyst and database developer responsibilities; strong general hands-on technology skills; Advanced level SQL skills. Expert level knowledge of SQL Server. **Education: ** Bachelor’s level degree in Computer Sciences/Information Sciences REQUIRED. **Physical Requirements:** Must be physically able to work in a business office setting.
