(USA-HI-Hilo) Case Manager
JOB TITLE: Case ManagerREPORTS TO: Executive DirectorHOURS: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)STATUS: Non-ExemptWAGE: $14 per hourBENEFITS: Medical/Dental/Vision and Paid Vacation/Holidays/Sick LeaveSUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating the mediation centerand#39;s client services, including scheduling and management of cases, while extending our organizationand#39;s mission.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:andbull; Coordinates infrastructure and details for mediation servicesandbull; Receives and responds to requests for servicesandbull; Assesses whether cases are appropriate for mediation and conducts client intakesandbull; Responsible for opening, scheduling, and managing of casesandbull; Prepares and maintains hard copy and digital case filesandbull; Maintains confidentiality of all case activity and client informationandbull; Responds to client inquiries and provides up-to-date referrals to clientsandbull; Works directly with clients, on the phone and/or in person, to prepare them for mediationandbull; Schedules and confirms mediation dates with all parties and volunteer mediatorsandbull; Maintains good relationships with judges, clerks, bailiffs, attorneys, social workers, service providers, and other professionals involved in the mediation processandbull; Coordinates centerand#39;s representation in court for on-site mediations and on-site intakesandbull; Prepares and files reports and action requests to the courtandbull; Maintains expertise in the court system in general and alternate dispute resolution in particularandbull; Gathers, records, and files client and mediator evaluationsandbull; Generates quarterly and annual reports on the mediation programandbull; Works with the Executive Director to address client complaints and concernsandbull; Develops and implements systems and protocols for improving mediation servicesandbull; Assists with development and implementation of trainings for volunteer mediatorsandbull; Maintains up-to-date information on mediators and apprentices, tracks mediator status, and develops a working knowledge of mediator skills, qualifications, and preferencesandbull; Monitors mediators, interns, and other volunteers who assist in the above list of responsibilitiesandbull; Other duties as assigned by the Executive DirectorREQUIREMENTS:andbull; Bachelorand#39;s degree in Social Sciences (or related field) and/or 3-5 years of office and customer service experience (human services field preferred)andbull; Experience supervising volunteersandbull; Strong people skills, especially empathic listeningandbull; Ability to work with diverse populationsandbull; Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations and when dealing with difficult peopleandbull; Works well independently as well as part of a teamandbull; Excellent organizational skills and verbal/written communication skillsandbull; Strong attention to accuracy and detail; ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesandbull; Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and databasesandbull; Able to pass a criminal background checkDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:andbull; Prior dispute resolution experience, mediation training, and/or degree in conflict resolutionandbull; Knowledgeable about judiciary, facilitative mediation, and/or facilitation
