Job Location Overland Park, Kansas Job Description Job Summary: Supports the sales operation of group insurance products by assisting in the pre-sale process, gathering information, coordinating and preparing proposals, calculating rates, and responding to technical benefit and procedural inquiries from customers, brokers and consultants. Functional Responsibilities: 1) Reviews RFPs (Request for Proposals) for a wide variety of prospective cases including case specifications, experience figures, prior rates, and plan design. 2) Works with brokers, consultants, and sales personnel to develop appropriate quotes. 3) Uses business knowledge and judgment to address open items. 4) Identifies and obtains missing information. Screens and prepares census for rating. 5) Prepares exhibits, spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides as needed. 6) Makes changes to plan design requested by broker, consultant and sales personnel. 7) As sales liaison, communicates outcome of rates, medical requirements, and plan exceptions to sales personnel, broker and/or consultant. 8) Responds to caller inquiries regarding company products, plan design, rates, procedures, alternate funding methods, underwriting rules and requirements for marketed products. 9) Processes quotes for additional coverages for current customers such as new products, plan revisions, and added affiliates. 10) Responds to questions from brokers, consultants, and customers regarding rate changes due to changes in benefit plan designs; obtains information necessary to recalculate rates. 11) For post-sale functions, assists with gathering new business forms and information, requesting outstanding information, and following-up and tracking the case through the final issue process as needed. 12) Answer routine telephone inquiries concerning requests from customers, broker and consultants. Assists with preparation for renewals as needed. 13) Assists with preparation for customer meetings as requested. 14) Performs ancillary support functions as required. 15) Maintains necessary compliance files (Law Department, NASD, etc.); ensures stocked materials are current and disposes of materials with expired control numbers. 16) Keeps intermediary prospect tracking system and handles awareness prospecting campaigns as required. 17) Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Typical Experience: 1) Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience. 2) 5+ yrs. relevant business experience.
