(USA-NJ-Somerset) Supervisor - Financial Planning Operations
Job Location Somerset, NJ Job Description **_Summary of Responsibilities:_** This job is a field-facing, supervisory position within the regulated field of financial planning. Daily interaction with top producers, field management, and business leaders is critical. This position will supervise the Financial Planning Operations team, which has primary responsibility for processing all aspects of fee-based financial planning business, from initial contract to delivery receipt, in the MetLife/New England distribution channels. **________________________________________________________________________________** **_Principal Responsibilities:_** * Day-to-day supervision of all functions of the Financial Planning Operations team * Handles escalated issues, involving field leadership, top producers and business leaders * Responsibility for training and onboarding new team members * Conducts periodic meetings with associates and provides input to manager on team members’ performance and development * Uses sound business judgment to independently make decisions pertaining to enforcement of business and company policies as well as industry regulations in order to manage risk of the business * Oversees the processing of new business paperwork * Oversees processing of all Financial Planning transactions such as check and credit card reconciliations, bank deposits, credit card and refund processing and invoicing. * Reconciles financial transactions with Finance department * Processes financial planning field compensation for weekly payroll * Responsible for responding to inquiries about Financial Planning policies and procedures in a clear and timely manner * Oversees the new planner review and approval process (reviewing applications, verifying documentation, licenses, registrations and training prerequisites) * Develops presentations about operational best practices and delivers to firm leadership, Field associates and internal partners * Approves financial plans in online software queue, verifying proper documentation has been received * Critical partner in projects and activities that improve business policies and processes * Serve as primary liaison with IT team to develop, test and implement enhancements to the Financial Planning website application * Works with internal and external auditors to respond to inquiries and resolve issues * Completes monthly finance reporting and deposits reports * Analyzes and prepares monthly deferred income reports for MetLife Securities/New England Securities * Performs other duties as required or assigned. **________________________________________________________________________________** **_Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:_** * High school diploma or equivalent business experience. * 5+ years of related business experience. * Ability to conceptualize, apply, and evaluate information to make sound business decisions * Organizational and interpersonal skills including flexibility, thoroughness, accuracy and care in handling details * Strong customer focus – comfortable with field interaction * Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing * Proactive in responding to and resolving issues Candidate has been identified.
