Position Summary:
The incumbent provides system design proposals, analysis, programming, maintenance, monitoring, cost analysis and hardening designs (including data security) of systems and servers, documentation with primary responsibility for the design, implementation, management and maintenance techniques of various system software products and on prem integrations that comprise enterprise physical and virtual computing infrastructure. Provides leadership in managing and supporting the cloud infrastructure and associated resources. Provides problem management support and resolution and may participate in the on-call schedule. Incumbent must be an individual with expert knowledge on the Microsoft Azure platform. This includes working knowledge of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and management, Azure Devops, Powershell, SAML application authentication integration, Application registrations and consents, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) concepts, Azure storage, Azure AD Connect and Azure security concepts, preferably in an academic healthcare environment.
Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $86,900.00 Midpoint $136,200.00 Maximum $185,500.00
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer service, documentation, and communication with vendors
Thorough understanding of infrastructure management including but not limited to: Active Directory, Group Policies, Hypervisor platforms, remote application deployment, and incident management.
Technical understanding of both wired and wireless networking, including: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, Ethernet/802.3, and Wireless/802.11
Some knowledge of clinical systems such as patient registration, patient accounting, EMRs, or electronic medication administration
Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with emphasis on computer science, software engineering, information systems, business administration, or healthcare related field with course work in systems analysis and development.
Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve programmatic/technical issues
Must be available to work evenings and be on call as required
Working knowledge of private and public cloud related technologies
Basic understanding of the full Microsoft M365 Suite
Extensive experience and the ability to effectively install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and server operating systems such as Windows or Linux platforms
Expert-level understanding of at least two programming languages (Java, Python, .NET, Javascript, Go, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of at least one CI/CD framework (Jenkins, CircleCI, Gradle, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of at least one configuration management technology (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of at least one unit-testing framework
At least three years’ experience deploying production workloads to XaaS cloud service providers.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
Ability to provide the highest level support for the cloud computing environment requiring a comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure as a code, containers, configuration management and automation
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certification (Professional – Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)
Microsoft Azure Certification (Associate or Expert) Security + or CISSP
