Title: Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) Location: US-MN-Albert Lea Job Number: ALB00472 Cargill Value Added Meats Retail facilities utilize state-of-the-art beef, pork and turkey processing capabilities to deliver high-quality meat products to our partners. Advanced technologies and imaginative people create innovative solutions and distinctive value for our customers. Our retail customers come to us from traditional grocers, supermarkets and warehouse clubs to provide their meat and deli needs. We provide innovative solutions for their fresh meat case, frozen meat departments, deli counters, and more. The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations and personnel to maximize efficiencies (this includes other functional areas such as contract Sanitation personnel, and Maintenance personnel) while operating within applicable government regulations and Cargill policy. Develop a deep understanding of production responsibilities and assess and initiate opportunities for improvement. Assist in identifying and developing customer solutions and service. Create and promote a team-building environment, which promotes customer and employee enthusiasm. Implement and recognize continuous improvement through ensuring employee involvement in problem solving and decision-making. Execute safety initiatives and communicate safety awareness. Assure all HACCP's, GMP's, and SOP's are executed as planned. Communicate business results and achievement of departmental goals and milestones. Promote employee focus through training and development. Responsibilities include preparing detailed Operations reports as part of the Management Operating System, completion of required audits (food safety, employee safety, sanitation, plant inspections, etc.) and supporting documentation, inventory management, ensuring effective communication between functions and shifts. Collection, analysis and input of Operations data as part of the Management Operating System (MOS) 25% -Direct and monitor production in process, identifying deficiencies, and correcting them.Review daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual production indices to find areas for improvement. 25% -Coach and counsel hourly employees for professional development, and assist as needed with personal issues that affect production.Facilitate employee engagement, improvement and safety through communication tools such as one on one conferences and departmental meetings. 10% -Participate in special projects including R&D tests, writing procedures, and specialized training. Qualifications: Required * High School Diploma or Equivalent * 2 years experience in related industry. * 2 years Supervisory Experience * Computer skills- Microsoft Excel and Word Document * Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment * Ability to work with multi-lingual and multi-cultural departments Preferred * Bachelor's Degree * Previous cooked meat business experience * Experience leading teams * Plant and food safety experience * Knowledge of protein (beef, pork, chicken) * Bi-lingual skills Job: Operations Cargill is an EEO/AA employer.
