Title: Logistics Business Analyst Location: US-MN-Wayzata Job Number: WAY04579 The Logistics Business Analyst will assist in developing and executing processes to capture, organize, and analyze data for the Warehouse and Terminal mode within Cargill Transportation Logistics. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining Warehouse & Terminal best practices, tools, and templates. Using financial models, the Logistics Analyst is expected to provide recommendations during vendor negotiations, and occasionally negotiate select items on behalf of the project team. Assists in developing market perspectives and recommended courses of action. Interacts with multiple Business Units (BU), requires cross-BU and functional collaboration and will require a natural curiosity for market intelligence. Supporting cross-BU efforts will be a critical responsibility. Position Description: Support the North America Warehouse & Terminal overall mode team and individual team members on projects as assigned by the Regional Warehouse & Terminal Manager in North America. Establish and maintain supplier scorecard measures, warehouse & terminal database, contracts, etc. Principal Accountabilities: * 50% - Spend Management Support: Support/enable the Warehouse & Terminal strategy with respect to vendor management (e.g. selection, contract negotiations, relationship management). Analyze and recommend solutions to support network optimization strategy, including consolidation projects, single BU projects, and real estate projects. Perform financial analysis during face-to-face negotiations and negotiate select items on behalf of the project team. Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate and monitor utilization of strategic supplier contracts. Review and monitor supplier performance. Implement contract management/supplier selection processes and the strategic supplier relationship management process * 35% - Cost Benchmarking: Create, develop, implement, and maintain the Warehouse & Terminal financial models, best practices, tools, templates, and processes. This includes performance scorecards, metrics reporting, and value capture/measurement tracking tools. Assist with category spend analysis by creating, developing and maintaining supplier scorecard measures, value capture/measurement tracking tools, warehouse/terminal database, contract management process, etc. * 10% - Market Intelligence: Gather, synthesize, and analyze data from structured and unstructured data sources such as analyst reports, publications, Cargill data warehouses, etc. to develop/maintain reports and to assist in developing market perspectives * Relocation is not available for this position. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business, Finance, Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management * Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the areas of Finance, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, Trading or other commercially oriented roles * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Advanced Excel required * Understanding of Transportation and Warehouse/Terminal operations * Must have a strong financial acumen including financial modeling * Strong analytical skills * Experience with scorecards/metrics * Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; ability to understand and prioritize business-strategic issues and impact * Demonstrated strong client and customer focus * Highly motivated, results-oriented team player * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Demonstrated ability to excel in ambiguous situations Preferred Qualifications: * MBA or an Advanced Degree in a related field * Demonstrated experience in financial modeling * Experience in asset management and/or real estate industry * Proficiency with Network Optimization software Job: Transportation/Logistics and Forwarding Cargill is an EEO/AA employer.
