(USA-NJ-Franklin Lakes) Supply Chain Intern
Purpose of Position: The BD Supply Chain internship program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to link their education with practical Supply Chain experience. The Supply Chain Intern works on meaningful projects that are aligned with BD’s strategies focused on efficiency and savings. There are (2) internship positions for Summer 2014. Scope: 1. Work with Integrated Supply Chain in the areas of either Supply Chain Relations or Global Transportation, identifying opportunities to improve overall supply chain operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. 2. Assist in the development and implementation of specific projects to achieve the identified improvement opportunities. 3. Provide supply chain performance visibility to Supply Chain Leadership Team to enable continuous improvement through metrics review, data analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action identification. 4. Collect, check for accuracy, and analyze quantitative and qualitative supply chain performance data; prepare internal scorecards and reports; analyze performance trends; perform diagnostics to identify potential causes of performance deterioration or improvement; identify potential corrective actions and improvement opportunities 5. Prepare and present findings to Supply Chain Leadership; gain agreement on corrective action and /or continuous improvement activities. Qualifications: REQUIRED: * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint * General knowledge of supply chain management theory and best practice * Progress towards a BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Operations Management PREFERRED: * GPA minimum of 3.0 * Prior internship/co-op experience * Basic SAP knowledge *Job:* Supply Chain Management *Primary Location:* US-New Jersey-Franklin Lakes *Shift:* First Shift / Day Job *Req ID:* SUP000DP
