Title: Production Supervisor Location: US-TX-Seguin Job Number: SEG00048 Cargill Feed & Nutrition develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of animal feeds and customized animal nutrition solutions direct to producers and through dealers in more than 25 countries. Cargill Feed & Nutrition sells branded products in the aqua, beef, dairy, poultry, pork and pet food segments. Position Overview: As a production supervisor safety of your team is your highest priority. You will be a champion to the team as we expect every employee to return home safely every day. As the leader in logistics, production scheduling, quality and food safety, employee engagement, teamwork and coaching, you have the opportunity to shape the brand image and perception of the business. Responsibilities will include personnel management, employee training, managing costs, overseeing plant maintenance, and assisting with the management of capital projects. You will also coordinate with merchants to ensure a seamless flow of ingredients and maximize the efficiency of the operation. Principle Accountabilities: 50% - Provide leadership on employee training, safety, development, engagement and the Cargill behaviors. 20% - Ensure employees are educated and trained to perform their jobs safely; to accept responsibility for their own safety performance and behaviors. 20% - Work with our maintenance staff assisting with daily tasks and projects. Understanding and increasing your knowledge of the plant and its equipment. Maintain the plants physical condition and appearance that reflect the standards of quality and service of our business and the character of our people professionally represents the brand image. Utilize a tool (activity schedule) to help manage and execute the numerous requirements you are accountable for. 10% - Maintain a system that evaluates process improvement sheets and model reports daily for accuracy and changes in trends, and act on any adverse trends or lack of accuracy. Watchdog bulk and bag inventory levels daily. Qualifications: Required: * Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer. * 1 year(s) supervisory experience in a production/industrial environment. * High School Diploma/GED. * Ability to create an environment conducive to teamwork; strong interpersonal skills. * Customer Solutions Approach. Holds self and others accountable. * Strong listening skills; written and verbal communication skills. * Adaptable, nimble. * Must be able and willing to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, etc.) and in an indoor/outdoor environment * Ability to work effectively within a team Preferred: * Experience in a feed or manufacturing industry. * Inventory management experience Job: Operations Cargill is an EEO/AA employer.
