Title: Global Systems Product Manager Business Unit: Gast Location: USA-MI-Benton Harbor Description: **BASIC FUNCTION:** The Product Manager plays a pivotal part of the overall strategic direction of the Systems Business, its products and markets served. The Product Manager plans will assist in generating increased profit, market share gain and overall customer satisfaction for Systems. They will champion and implement all new product and market strategies, while determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the existing portfolio. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** **POSITION FOCUS:** * Understand the key customers, markets and segments for Systems and identify new opportunities * Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors. * Conduct market research to determine requirements for existing and future products. * Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing products and markets. * Work with commercial team to develop targeted marketing plans with a coherent integration of marketing tactics to achieve sales goals. * Manage the product lines, including revenues and Margins. Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections. * Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services. * Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction. * Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends. * Conduct economic and commercial surveys/analysis to identify potential markets. * Advise business and other groups on local, national, and international factors affecting the buying and selling of products and services. * Collaborate with the sales teams from Asia and Europe. * Strategic direction setting- Product/Segment identification, sizing, intelligence and road maps * Grow revenues through driving strategic NPD initiatives in core markets with core products - starting with qualifying and leading major projects on cross-functional team through to successful launch and growth of product line * Deploy 80/20 methodologies to our lines, customers, and pricing to optimize focus and value in existing portfolio * A leader in driving the brand and further developing its presence in strategic categories * Key input and researcher in the development of STRAP and annual operating projections, as well as assist in monthly SIOP and forecasting of new products Qualifications: **PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:** * Demonstrated long track record of successful execution of plans and growing responsibilities. * Ability to understand a larger vision, and break it down into strategic product plans to better serve and grow our markets and our customer base. * Demonstrated drive for results through developing and executing strategic plans * Demonstrated ability to drive results through cross-functional teams by directing a team, securing commitments, and holding others accountable through effective project management skills * Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to analyze market and product competitive threats and opportunities and develop action plans based on this analysis * Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to recognize and leverage operational and product strengths into opportunities for success * Demonstrated commitment to proactive communication, cross-functional team communication, and continuous quality improvement * Must show initiative, be self-directed, and anticipate and prevent problems in execution **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:** * Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Business, MS or MBA preferred * Appropriate product / solutions management and technical background. Candidate must possess background in marketing OEM or industrial type products through multiple channels. Integrated system product background ideal * At least five (5) years of experience in marketing, branding, product management, sales, or project / engineering management required. Evidence of Increased roles and responsibilities during prior experience preferred. * At least five (5) years in product marketing management with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in an environment that embraced 80/20 principles is considered a plus. * Ability to work in a technical and collaborative environment, analytically savvy, and understanding of global scalability required.
