Requisition ID: Job Title: **Research Associate I** **Position Summary and Key Responsibilities** The Division of Translational Vaccine Research in the Department of Virology is seeking a research associate to assist with experiments in cellular immunology in a team environment. The work will consist of conducting immuno assays in support of a human clinical vaccine project utilizing either synthetic peptides and recombinant pox-viruses. The pathogen under study is human cytomegalovirusWork with Class A pathogens will be required for this position as well as work to be conducted after hours and on occasional weekends as required by the experimental protocols. Under supervision, the Research Associate I performs standard laboratory procedures and is trained in more difficult procedures and the theoretical background in a scientific field. The individual gradually performs a variety of non-standard procedures more typical of the Research Associate II level.
