Job Location Morristown, NJ Job Description * Performs comprehensive financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analysis for MetLife’s Investment Management Business and General Account portfolio. * Entails regular monitoring of actual results and comparison to forecasted results * Oversee key aspects of the control environment for the financial and management reporting for MetLife’s Investment Management Business * May support financial analysis/reporting and the integrity of financial data by developing the financial systems infrastructure, establishing controlled financial transaction processing through administrative systems, or providing technical support in the production of reports/analyses. ** Functional Responsibilities**: * Works on financial analyses assignments or projects of a basic to complex level. * Prepares financial reports by downloading information from single or multiple sources, compiles databases, and formulates spreadsheets. * Conducts research and/or participates in special studies, models basic to moderately complex future short- and long-term financial results, reconciles actual results against projections, and explains variances. * May participate in interpreting financial trends. * May assist in developing business requirements, documenting procedures and processes, and testing as a subject matter expert on cross-functional IT/business teams developing financial systems or financial accounting transactions and controls within administrative systems. * Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Job Requirements Required Skills: * 2-5 yrs. financial experience in a public or private company environment Desired Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience. * Strong computer skills, specifically Excel, general ledger and business intelligence systems * Completion of or progress towards CPA or MBA preferred. * Working knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, and practices related to investments and investment management * Proven organizational skills; demonstrated attention to detail * Ability to identify and resolve issues independently * Flexible, adaptable and able to handle multiple priorities * Work well in a team environment * Excellent oral and written communications skills Education Required Bachelors Degree Preferred Business Category Financial Management Group Job Category Accounting Salary Grade 29.3 Number of Openings 1 Equal Employment Opportunity MetLife is proud to be an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
