Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: February 28, 2014 Departmental Overview Housing and Dining Services is currently searching for 3 temporary full-time Senior Custodians for approximately one month with possibility of extension; since these positions are replacing employees who are on extended leave, time worked in the position will not count toward career status for the duration of this appointment. Responsibilities • Clean and prepare residential rooms, bathrooms, lounges, hallways, offices, and meeting rooms • Empty trash cans and trash chutes • Move furniture • Set up classrooms and meeting rooms • Change linens and make beds • Clean grounds, power wash stairs, wax and maintain a variety of floor surfaces • Clean all areas of vacated apartments Training will be provided. Required Qualifications • Custodial cleaning operation experience • Knowledge of cleaning products and methods used to maintain different types of floor surfaces (tile, wood, cement, carpet) • Basic English skills (speaking, reading, writing, listening) and math skills related to the safe and efficient performance of the job • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete work to standards within designated time periods with limited supervision • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to walk up and down an 8-story building and carry paper products and supplies • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and move up to 100 lbs • Availability to work 8-hour shifts including Saturdays and Sundays and to work overtime Salary & Benefits For information on the comprehensive benefits package offered by the University visit: http://ift.tt/1ckhPfU $16.20/hour How to Apply Please submit your cover letter and resume as a single attachment when applying.
